what use of the dismantled - reflection
these words explore the themes of loss, memory, and transformation. the poem is divided into three sections, each with its own mood and atmosphere.
the first section of the poem is a journey through the speaker's past. the speaker visits places where their heroes once stood, and they reflect on the impact these people had on their life, or the hero of themselves that have now come and gone. the speaker's insides are "afloat" with emotion, as they are clearly grappling with the loss of these individuals / with their past self.
section two is more hopeful , optimistic. theres a depiction of a "special place in limbo" where the air is warmer and more alive, encouraging the reader to "taste the sweetness of the world" in this place. however, there is still a sense of underlying unease, as it is a place "beyond human understanding," where "chaos knocks at the little green door."
in the third section, the speaker reveals that they are now "parasitic," and that this secret has transformed them. they are haunted by images of "coffee stains" and a "hoarse throat,” daring to not "look to the dark corners of the room." some part of oneself, left behind. a part that cannot be salvaged.
yet , there was beauty in this space - hidden in plain sight , “the beautifully cut flowers along the way”.
